An effort has been made to suggest time-tested domestic remedies for the commonly occurring diseases both mild as well as deadly, fatal as well as incurable. The material has been collected from the researches of ancient Indian saints, as mentioned in scriptures & narrated by different scholars from time to time to modern science. Since no such list can ever be exhaustive and complete; learned readers are requested to please be kind enough to contribute additions & modifications generously, if anyone can; for the benefit of mankind. However, the suggestions must be time-tested or from some authentic sources. Also, the element of toxicity should not be there, in any remedy.
Every remedy has a different level of effect on individuals, depending on their nature of KAF, VAAT or PITTA ( the main characteristic distinctions of ancient Ayurveda). Although all of these remedies are used in daily life in the kitchens of almost all the households, yet some individuals may be sensitive to some of these remedies, spices or condiments; so care should be taken, while taking them. Similarly, the frequency of intake like twice or three times a day may be adjusted according to the individual. For the best results, a diary must be maintained & observations recorded. This will be of immense help.
The efficacy of this system depends mainly on food habits. Strictly avoiding fast food, junk food, will make the treatment highly effective. Preference should be given to organic food. This is also important in view of the high quantity of insecticides & pesticides, used by farmers on crops. Vegetables & fruits should be washed by warm water so as to minimize the effect of pesticides & insecticides. Also as far as possible, Fruits & vegetables should be consumed with skin i.e. without peeling off. The effect of chemical sprays, insecticides, pesticides on the fruit peel or skin can well be removed by dipping the whole fruit in Baking Soda solution in warm water for an hour.
DAILY EXPOSURE TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES & FEELING OF HAPPINESS IS MANDATORY IN TREATMENT OF ALL DISEASES.
NO PESSIMISTIC THOUGHTS, NO OVER SENSITIVITY TOWARDS ANYTHING OR INCIDENCE, SHOULD BE THERE. REMEMBER SOUND MINDS KEEP SOUND BODIES.
